FAQ
Q: Do I need to be a professional artist? No! This is for amateur and professional artists, crafters, kinky folk and just plain people alike. If you have an idea or just want to support the Center, we appreciate your donation and submission!
Q: How do I pick up a paddle blank? We will have pick-up points all over the greater Seattle area. One will be at the Gallery during CSPC events, one in North Seattle, one in Bothell/Eastside and, hopefully, at least one in the Tukwilla area. We also have possibilities of the Snohomish and Tacoma areas.
Q: What if I get busy and can't finish or return my art piece? No worries. In that case, you've made a generous $25 donation to the Center!
Q: Do I have to use your paddle blank? Not at all! All original toys will be accepted, valued, and appreciated! You can braid a whip or make a flogger or create leather restraints or anything you'd like as your submission piece!
Q: What if I'm far away and can't make a pick-up point? For those more than 50 miles from the CSPC, we will mail out a paddle blank to you. Getting your finished toy back to us for auction is your responsibility.
Q: When is the auction? Right now, we don't have a date. We're thinking mid-late-December, or early February, depending on how many submissions we get between now and December 1st.
Q: I'm a professional artist. What benefit is there to donating? When you donate an item and $25 submission, we will post your description, including the picture of your item and your website information so that people perusing auction items can go from there to your site to purchase other items you have for sale. This is, in essence, an advertising opportunity. Our newsletter currently goes out to more than 14,000 emails and our site gets 2000ish views a week.
In addition, there will be a fabulous prize for the item or items that bring in the most at the auction! We are in the process of negotiating exactly how that is going to work, but check back here for details as we firm them up!
Q: I can't afford $25 but I still want to donate an item. No problem. We have a few "scholarship" spots open for submissions without a corresponding donation. Email paddleme@theCSPC.org to apply!
Q: I don't have the time to make a submission, but I'd still like to support the CSPC. How can I donate? Please go to this link to donate without needing to submit a piece!
